Don't wait: Exchange your old smart cards today

Effective September 1, Saskatoon Transit will no longer accept old smart cards as valid fare passes. The farebox scanners are being replaced with a cash-only farebox top. New reloadable smart cards and mobile tickets will continue to use the validator near the bus entrance.

Exchange Your Old Smart Card

Customers are encouraged to exchange their old smart card for a new reloadable smart card to maintain access to their balances and active fare products. Remaining balances can be transferred to a new card at the Transit Customer Service Centre until October 31, 2026.

New reloadable smart cards can be purchased or reloaded at the Customer Service Centre or participating vendors.

What’s New

• New reloadable smart cards are available for Adult, Senior and High School products
• Mobile tickets and new smart cards will continue to use the validator near the bus entrance.
• $5 activation fee waived when exchanging old cards
• Cash will continue to be accepted onboard. Bus farebox scanners are being replaced with a cash-only farebox top
