Don't wait: Exchange your old smart cards by August 31


Starting September 1, Saskatoon Transit will no longer accept old smart cards for payment on buses. Bus farebox scanners are being replaced with a cash-only farebox top. New reloadable smart cards and mobile tickets will continue to use the validator near the bus entrance.


Exchange Your Old Smart Card

Customers are encouraged to exchange their old smart card for a new reloadable smart card to maintain access to their balances by August 31, 2026. Existing balances and active entitlements can be transferred to a new smart card at the Transit Customer Service Centre.

New smart cards can be purchased or reloaded at the Customer Service Centre or participating vendors.

  • New reloadable smart cards are available for Adult, Senior and High School products
